This rail insert is commonly missing from old pool table rails and it's needed to get your pockets to fit the rails properly. Used on antique tables with #6 irons, it fits inside the holes in the rails and allows the iron of the pocket to fit correctly. The insert is made with an elongated hole to allow for pocket bolt variances.
