Colorful veneers of black, green, brown and white highlight the birdseye maple forearm of this cue. They coordinate well with the wrap of black Irish linen with green specks. The veneers outline four points of ebony. The butt sleeve is also ebony, accented at the bottom with a nickel silver ring with sixteen windows. The joint is a stainless steel collar with a stainless steel radial pin that maintains a face-to-face joint.
This handcrafted Downey Custom Cue features a 13mm shaft diameter with a 12-1/2" taper, Stratos medium-hard laminated tip, and linen-based laminate ferrule. The joint is flat-faced and wood-to-wood using a 3/8" radial™ brass pin into wood. The brass pin provides a better feel and a better hit.
