This cue starts with a single piece of birdseye maple. After the 12 window rings are placed, the grain is re-matched. One can follow the grain from the butt end of the cue to the joint. The windows are made up of a blue veneer placed between two white veneers. The decorative rings occur at the joint, in the middle and at the top and bottom of the butt sleeve. The beauty of the wood is accented with a maple stain.
Each Downey cue comes with two 13mm shafts with a 12.5” taper, and dymondwood joint protectors. Each cue also includes moori medium-hard laminated tips and linen-based laminate ferrules. The joints are flat faced and use a 3/8 radial brass pin. The type of joint and the pin lends to the playability of the cue. Measuring 58” long they are available in weights of 18-21 oz. Because each cue is individually made and no two are exactly alike, wood grains and patterns may vary slightly from cue to cue. Includes two shafts and dymondwood joint protectors. Availability:
