Gabe Owen, Pro Pool Player, Biography & Events

Gabe’s midwestern roots, competitive hunger and fast-rising status as a major professional pool player makes Gabe a perfect match for Mueller’s and creates exciting new opportunities for both.
Born in Wichita, Kansas to poolroom owners, Gabe spend his younger years immersed in the pool talk and games his father brought home. Gabe, however, didn’t start playing the game himself until the age of 14, and began earning a living at 17 when he teamed up with Jeremy Jones and hit the road. The years following were filled with ups and downs . . . developing a tough reputation in the poolroom but finding little success in tournaments. Frustrations led to Gabe quitting the game at one point for two years, but his love for pool drove him to give tournament play another chance. His success in tournaments took off in 2003 and led to his wins at the US Open 8-Ball and 9-Ball Tournaments in 2004. Those wins helped Gabe become a member of the 2004 Mosconi Cup Championship Team, and made him a name to beat.
